Drs. George and Joan Hayes are a husband and wife optometric team. They graduated from Loyola College of Baltimore, Maryland, in 1978 with Bachelor of Science degrees. They attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and graduated in 1982.

Drs. George and Joan Hayes opened York Eye Associates of East York in April of 1984. The practice grew so that in 1985 a major renovation and expansion was necessary.
In December of 1990 they purchased Dairyland Eye Care Center in Red Lion, Pennsylvania. This second practice added a surfacing and edging lab to expand our services.
In June of 2000, the Red Lion office moved to 3094 Cape Horn Road and was renamed York Eye Associates of Red Lion and Dallastown.
